CARRIER OF THE MONTH: CJ Express LLC

September 1, 2022

Carriers are the backbone of our success. Without our carriers, we wouldn’t be able to offer our shippers the quality and reliability they’ve come to expect from us.

We are excited to announce that August’s Carrier of the Month is CJ Express LLC. They have become one of the most reliable carriers in our network. When it comes to quality service, CJ Express is best in class. We are excited to continue growing our relationship for years to come.

Read more below about CJ Express LLC take on the transportation industry.

Tell us about your founding (year, why you started, etc.): We began CJ Express in 2017. My dad and I were career truck drivers, and we decided it was time to work for ourselves.

What does your company specialize in (i.e., modes, areas of the country, etc.): At CJ Express, we specialize in dry van, local runs, and refrigerated loads over the road.

Why do you enjoy working with Spot: We enjoy working with Spot because of the stability the company provides. The loads come through on time and without confusion. On top of that, Spot offers excellent customer service as well.

What do you do to pass the time while on the road?: Most of the time, our drivers pass the time by listening to podcasts and audiobooks. Some of the good ol boys still love to listen to the radio as well.

What would it be if you could change one thing about the transportation industry? If we could change anything about the transportation industry, it would be how much fuel costs. Lower fuel costs would help tremendously.

What part of the country do you enjoy driving through the most? Why?: We enjoy driving through the Midwest because it’s close to home. The mountains are great, but it can get a little hairy while driving a big rig. The ocean is excellent too, but usually requires gnarly city travel, which we try to avoid. We stick to flat ground where people will pull over to offer you a hand if you have a breakdown.

What is your favorite part about being in the logistics industry?: Our mission was to create a company where drivers could make good money while going home every night or two. We didn’t want our drivers to miss out on their kid’s school events and time with their families.

Anything else about your company or the industry that you think everyone should know? Truck drivers are often underappreciated and sometimes get a bad rap for being rough around the edges. We want people to understand that they are good, hardworking guys with families. We also want people to know how important this industry is to the world and how our way of life couldn’t function without the transportation industry.
