Tell us about your founding: ATW Trucking was established in 2014. What started as a single unit sprinter operation to provide a shipping solution for a good friend, quickly expanded into a larger operation offering services throughout the Midwest. We realized the industry was underserved, and driver working conditions had room for improvement. We believed we could build a better version.
What does your company specialize in?: We specialize in full truckload shipping and drop and hook freight around the Midwest. 60% of our operation revolves around second and third-tier suppliers.
Why do you enjoy working with Spot?: Honesty and loyalty go a long way in the transportation industry, which is exactly the reason we value our
relationship with Spot Freight. We have been fortunate to work with great people at Spot. They understand what we do and connect us with the right customers to provide exceptional service. It bucks the industry stereotype of what a broker is about. We have a true partner with Spot.
If you could change one thing about the transportation industry, what would it be?: Transportation is an industry that is constantly evolving, so identifying the opportunity within the changes is half the fun. We find that the majority of the battles within our industry boil down to service. If we had to change one thing, it would be prioritizing service and end results above the bottom line cost per mile.
What part of the country do you enjoy driving through the most?: The Midwest – we currently service a radius of 250 miles of our home base of Indianapolis, Indiana.
