Spot, a leading third-party logistics company in North America, successfully achieved Systems and Organizational Control (SOC) 2 Type 1 attestation. Conducted by Katz, Sapper & Miller, the rigorous examination process affirms Spot’s information security practices, policies, procedures, and operations meet the SOC 2 standards for security, availability, and confidentiality.
The achievement of SOC 2 Type 1 compliance underscores Spot’s ongoing commitment to ensuring powerful data security and business continuity for its current and future customers.
“We believe that relationships with our customers must be built on trust,” said Andy Schenck, Co-Founder of Spot. “Achieving SOC 2 makes Spot more than just a credible company, but a trusted and preferred partner. As a customer-first, service-oriented company, protecting sensitive information of those with whom we work is of utmost importance. This further demonstrates our ongoing dedication and adherence to the highest security standards.”
SOC 2 is an examination created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It evaluates whether an organization’s controls related to information security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy are suitably designed to provide reasonable assurance that service commitments and system requirements are met.
“We are extremely proud of achieving this attestation,” said Ben Garvin, Director of IT for Spot. “We have always ensured our platform’s security, but having this verified by a third party further substantiates we are doing everything necessary to protect our customers’ data. It is also an important step for us as it sets the groundwork for SOC 2 Type 2 certification, of which we are currently pursuing and are in the 12-month audit period.”
As Spot advances, further developing future-focused technology solutions and elevating data security will remain priority. This reinforces its commitment to its partners and to building lasting relationship-based business in the logistics space.
